H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, has approved a wide-ranging set of initiatives aimed at advancing Dubai’s position as one of the world’s most liveable, beautiful, and healthiest cities.

The approvals came during a meeting of the Executive Council of Dubai held as part of the UAE Annual Government Meetings 2025, in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The new measures span urban development, education, aviation, sports, finance, and healthcare.

Among the highlights is the AED18.3 billion Public Parks and Greenery Strategy, which includes over 800 projects such as 310 new parks, 322 park upgrades, and the expansion of green areas to 187 square kilometres. The plan targets tripling Dubai’s tree count and ensuring most residents live within a short walk or cycle of a park.

The Aviation Talent 33 initiative was also approved to position Dubai as the aviation capital of the world. It will create more than 15,000 jobs, offer over 4,000 training opportunities, and strengthen Emiratisation in the sector.

Other approvals include the policy to expand affordable schools, adding 60 new institutions and 120,000 seats by 2033, and the Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033 to make Dubai a global sports hub.

Additionally, the Council endorsed the establishment of a Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Court and the expansion of early detection healthcare services to boost preventative care and increase life expectancy.

Sheikh Hamdan said the initiatives reflect Dubai’s commitment to integrating economic growth, social wellbeing, and sustainability to create a thriving city for future generations.
