Hamdan bin Mohammed Establishes Interim Committee to Oversee Dubai’s Commercial Control Transfer

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, has issued a resolution to form the Steering Committee for Overseeing the Transfer of Commercial Control Operations in Dubai. Chaired by the Secretary-General of the Supreme Legislation Committee, the interim committee includes members from various government departments and entities.

The committee’s responsibilities include:

  • Approving timelines for transferring commercial control tasks to the Dubai Corporation for Consumer Protection and Fair Trade.
  • Unifying and streamlining commercial control operations in local markets.
  • Proposing amendments to inspection procedures for The Executive Council.
  • Facilitating coordination and information sharing between regulatory bodies.
  • Resolving disputes between authorities and overseeing the implementation of the transfer plan.

All government entities, including free zones, are mandated to fully cooperate with the committee by providing the necessary data and support. The resolution takes effect upon publication in the Official Gazette.
