Hamdan Bin Mohammed Inaugurates DP World’s Landmark Logistics Hub in Mumbai

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, has officially inaugurated DP World’s cutting-edge Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) – the Nhava Sheva Business Park (NSBP) – in Mumbai, India.
The inauguration, held during Sheikh Hamdan’s official visit to India, represents a major step forward in fortifying the economic and cultural partnership between the UAE and India. Developed by DP World, NSBP is a key component of the company’s US$200 million (AED735 million) investment in three FTWZs across India, enhancing global trade infrastructure and supply chain competitiveness.
Sheikh Hamdan, accompanied by DP World Group Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, toured the facility and was briefed on its advanced operations, value-added services, and customised logistics solutions.
“The UAE and India share a long-standing economic partnership,”
Sheikh Hamdan said.
“Infrastructure like the Nhava Sheva Business Park not only enhances connectivity but reinforces our shared vision for sustainable growth and innovation.”
Spanning 1 million sq. ft., with another million in development, NSBP includes specialised and temperature-controlled warehousing. Strategically located near Jawaharlal Nehru Port, Navi Mumbai Airport, and major highways, it supports seamless multimodal cargo movement.
NSBP integrates with DP World’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) and other FTWZs in Chennai and Kochi, creating a powerful logistics network that reduces trade costs and improves efficiency.
The facility also champions sustainability and inclusion—earning Platinum certification from the Indian Green Building Council and employing women from local communities. Sheikh Hamdan planted a sapling at the site, symbolising the UAE’s commitment to environmental stewardship and its enduring partnership with India.
