H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, launched the 'One Million Prompters' initiative, the world’s largest AI prompt engineering training program, aiming to upskill one million people in three years.

Overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation, this initiative seeks to develop skills necessary for AI applications, driving innovation and economic growth. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of keeping pace with technological advancements and preparing Dubai to be a future-ready city. The initiative aligns with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, focusing on enhancing AI prompt engineering expertise.

Accredited certifications

The announcement was made during the Global Prompt Engineering Championship, where winners in Coding, Literature, and Art were honored. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized expanding the competition in future editions to include more categories. The initiative aligns with Dubai’s AI ambitions and aims to foster global technological progress. Key dignitaries, including Omar Sultan Al Olama and Hala Badri, attended the event.

Entries from all over the world

The Global Prompt Engineering Championship attracted thousands of entries from around 100 countries, with 30 finalists from 13 countries competing in Dubai. Held at the Museum of the Future, the final on 21 May saw three finalists per category vying for top honors, judged by experts from Art Dubai, Dubai Culture, Microsoft, International Media Investments, Emirates Literature Foundation, Google, IBM, and the UAE's Artificial Intelligence Office.

The event also featured workshops in collaboration with major tech companies like Microsoft, Google, IBM, and the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.
