Dubai has launched the Season of Wulfa, a new cultural initiative designed to celebrate Emirati values, heritage, and community bonds, reinforcing the emirate’s position as a global hub for tolerance, coexistence, and cultural exchange.

The initiative was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. The Season of Wulfa will be led and overseen by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.

Running from Hag Al Leila on the 15th of Sha‘ban through the Holy Month of Ramadan and extending to Eid, the season highlights traditions deeply rooted in Emirati spiritual and social life. It is built around three core pillars: reflection, connection, and blessing, each expressed through customs that promote harmony, generosity, and social cohesion.

The programme features more than 50 initiatives and events across over 30 locations in Dubai, including neighbourhoods, markets, and cultural destinations. It is being delivered through collaboration between government entities, the private sector, and local communities.

Sheikh Hamdan said the initiative aims to bring people closer to their values, identity, and one another, while preserving cultural heritage and strengthening community harmony. He noted that a society’s strength lies in its ability to safeguard its living memory while passing its values to future generations in contemporary ways.

Sheikha Latifa said the Season of Wulfa reflects Dubai’s commitment to cultural harmony and shared human values, offering inclusive experiences that blend authentic heritage with modern creativity. She added that the initiative reinforces Dubai’s role as a model for coexistence in a city home to nearly 200 nationalities.
