Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Launches Third Cycle of Global Educational Award
The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has officially launched the third cycle of the Hamdan EFQM Global Educational Award, in collaboration with the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).
This initiative aims to elevate the quality of education and enhance educational outcomes in schools across the UAE and beyond.
The award, designed to foster excellence, follows the Hamdan EFQM Global Model, developed by international experts based on best global practices. Schools participating in the award will adopt the standards and pillars of this model, ensuring a robust approach to educational improvement.
The process is divided into two phases. The first phase, focused on teacher training, will continue until January 2025. During this period, participating schools will receive guidance on implementing the standards of the award. The second phase, set to run from January to March 2025, will involve an evaluation of the schools through on-site visits to assess their performance based on the established criteria. The results of these evaluations will be announced in 2025.
A total of six UAE schools are taking part, including Zayed Educational Complex-Al Barsha and Dubai Modern Education School in Dubai, Al Manar Model School in Sharjah, Um Ghafa School in Al Ain, Zayed Educational Complex-Dibba Al Fujairah, and Zayed Educational Complex-Al Muntazah in Ajman. Additionally, the Qatar Science and Technology School from Doha will join the initiative, marking the first Gulf school outside the UAE to participate.
This award aims to raise the bar for educational standards in the region, supporting continuous improvement in schools globally.
