The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO) and the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences have announced the fifth edition of the Hamdan–ICESCO Award for the Development of Educational Facilities in the Islamic World.

The initiative recognises and supports efforts to enhance learning environments, improve the quality and sustainability of educational infrastructure, and promote innovation across Islamic countries.

Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Foundation, said the partnership with ICESCO reflects a shared commitment to advancing education as a cornerstone of development. He emphasised that upgrading educational facilities is a strategic investment in future generations, empowering communities and fostering creativity and innovation.

Applications for the 2025–2026 cycle will open in October 2025, with workshops scheduled from November 2025 to March 2026. Submissions close on 20 March 2026, followed by judging in April and May. Winners will be announced in June, with an official awards ceremony to follow later in the year.

Launched in 2017 under the patronage of the late Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Award honours individuals and organisations contributing to education through voluntary and philanthropic initiatives. It targets charitable entities, donors, and institutions working to build or enhance educational facilities across the Islamic world.

Applications can be submitted in Arabic, English, or French via the official portal. The initiative underscores both institutions’ commitment to fostering collaboration and supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in education.
