The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences and UNESCO have opened nominations for the 2025–2026 UNESCO–Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development, which honors innovative practices that advance teaching quality worldwide.
Awarded every two years since 2008, the Prize has become a global platform for sharing effective teaching methods and driving educational innovation. Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Hamdan Foundation, said the initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to supporting teachers internationally and highlights their role in shaping sustainable development.
Three winners will be selected by an independent international jury of education experts and honored at a ceremony on World Teachers’ Day, 5 October 2026, at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
Educational and research institutions, along with governmental and non-governmental organizations, are invited to submit nominations through the Prize’s online platform by 31 October 2025. The award carries a total value of US$300,000, shared equally among the three laureates.
