HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed appointed as Deputy PM, Minister of Defence
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced a new UAE cabinet formation.
Key appointments include H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The cabinet reshuffle features significant changes in the education sector, including the establishment of the Education, Human Resources and Community Development Council, chaired by Sheikh Abdullah, with H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Vice Chairperson. The Emirates Schools Establishment and the Federal Agency of Early Education will merge with the Ministry of Education. Sarah Al Amiri is appointed Minister of Education, while Abdulrahman Al Awar will serve as acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Ahmad Belhoul is appointed Minister of Sports, and Alia Abdullah Al Mazrouei becomes Minister of State for Entrepreneurship. The restructuring aims to enhance governance, cooperation, and strategic planning in education and human development, ensuring alignment with national priorities and market needs.
