H.H. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has officially launched the "Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme," a new initiative aimed at fostering the growth, stability, and wellbeing of families in Dubai.
The programme focuses on empowering Emirati families through financial, social, and educational support, aligning with the national vision to strengthen family values and create a more cohesive society. Sheikha Hind emphasized the programme’s role in supporting the aspirations of every Emirati family, ensuring their happiness and stability while preparing future generations for challenges ahead.
Among the key initiatives is the Dubai Weddings programme, launched in January 2024, which provides financial support for wedding ceremonies, including free wedding halls and neighbourhood Majlises. By the end of 2024, the programme had facilitated 344 weddings, accounting for nearly 30% of all Emirati weddings in Dubai.
The programme also introduces housing support through the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, offering reduced monthly premiums for housing loans to Dubai Weddings beneficiaries. Furthermore, training initiatives such as "Start it Right" marital awareness courses and financial literacy training are helping young couples plan their futures wisely.
Future phases of the programme will extend its benefits to education, health, and social services, further solidifying the government’s commitment to empowering Emirati families and promoting work-life balance. The programme is set to launch new packages in 2025, continuing to evolve in response to the needs of Dubai's growing population.
