The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has signed a first-of-its-kind strategic partnership with Parkin Company PJSC, Dubai’s largest paid public parking provider, to streamline and improve access to mosque parking across the emirate.
As part of the initial phase, Parkin will manage approximately 2,100 parking spaces across 59 mosque sites in Dubai. These zones—designated as Zone M (standard) and Zone MP (premium)—will offer one hour of free parking during prayer times, aimed at supporting worshippers and enhancing their overall religious experience.
The new initiative, set to roll out in August 2025, is structured under a revenue-sharing agreement and marks a major step in improving cooperation between government and semi-government sectors. Outside of prayer hours, the parking spaces will operate on a paid model, available 24/7.
H.E. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, highlighted that this partnership reflects Dubai’s broader efforts to deliver smart and proactive services to the community, enhancing accessibility to mosques for residents and visitors alike.
Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, noted that this collaboration not only improves accessibility but also helps prevent misuse of mosque parking areas by non-visitors.
This move will expand Parkin’s total private parking portfolio to 20,800 spaces and sets a precedent for further collaborations focused on public convenience and urban efficiency. Future expansions are being considered to cover additional mosque sites within IACAD’s portfolio, supporting Dubai’s vision for smart, inclusive city services.
