The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai has officially launched the "Winter Ghiras" program, aimed at fostering Islamic values and national identity among Emirati girls aged 7 to 15.
The program was inaugurated at the Umm Al Sheif Cultural Islamic Center in the presence of His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al-Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, and notable Emirati astronauts Mohammad Al-Mulla and Nora Al-Matrooshi.
During the event, the astronauts shared their remarkable experiences in space exploration, inspiring the audience, particularly the participating girls, to pursue ambition and knowledge-driven achievements. Their presence highlighted the program’s emphasis on encouraging creativity and limitless aspirations among the younger generation.
In his opening address, Al-Muhairi emphasized that "Winter Ghiras" aligns with the objectives of "Dubai’s Social Agenda 33," promoting community bonds and national pride. He described the initiative as an educational and developmental platform that nurtures Islamic values while preserving Emirati traditions.
"The program seeks to prepare a generation connected to its cultural roots yet equipped to achieve future aspirations,"
he noted.
The "Winter Ghiras" program includes activities at multiple cultural centers across Dubai, such as Al-Mizhar Cultural Islamic Center and Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Islamic Culture. Workshops focus on innovation, sustainability, and leadership, blending education with enjoyment to foster a love for learning.
