The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) announced the selection of the United Arab Emirates to host the 4th ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS 2025) and its accompanying exhibition.

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the GCAA, highlighted the aviation sector's pivotal role in the UAE's diverse and robust economy, serving as a vital link to global markets. He attributed the UAE's success in the aviation sector to the wise vision and guidance of its leadership, advanced infrastructure, and globally renowned airlines.

Al Marri emphasized the UAE's active participation in international cooperation initiatives led by ICAO to enhance aviation safety, security, and sustainability. He noted the UAE's track record of hosting major international aviation conferences and exhibitions, highlighting the upcoming 4th ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium in 2025 as a testament to the strong partnership between the UAE and ICAO.

ICAO Council President Salvatore Sciacchitano expressed confidence in the UAE's ability to host the event, praising its dedication to fostering innovation and sustainability in the aviation sector. He anticipated that the symposium would provide an excellent platform for advancing shared goals in aviation.

During the GISS 2024 event, the UAE delegation showcased its leadership by presenting innovative proposals and participating in collaborative initiatives, shaping the future of aviation. A key highlight was the UAE's proposal for the Sustainable Aviation Marketplace (SAM) 2025, to be hosted alongside GISS 2025.
