In a landmark event attended by global sustainability leaders and key stakeholders, the International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) launched its ambitious 2024-2034 Strategy and unveiled a bold new corporate identity.
The initiative reaffirms ICBA's commitment to addressing global agricultural challenges, particularly in arid and saline environments.
Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chair of ICBA’s Board of Directors, highlighted ICBA’s transformative journey since its inception in 1999.
“ICBA has tackled critical challenges like salinity, water scarcity, and climate change. This progress reflects the UAE’s wise leadership and the support of our co-founders—the UAE Government, the Islamic Development Bank, the OPEC Fund, and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development,”
she said. Al Mubarak emphasized the new strategy as a roadmap for innovation, sustainability, and collaboration.
Dr. Tarifa Ajeif Alzaabi, Director General of ICBA, elaborated on the organization’s vision.
“The 2024-2034 Strategy builds on ICBA’s legacy of delivering innovative solutions for salinity management and climate adaptation. It strengthens our leadership in scalable approaches for sustainable agriculture and resilient ecosystems,”
she stated. Alzaabi also noted that the new corporate identity reflects ICBA’s forward-thinking vision, designed to meet evolving global needs.
Moving forward, ICBA aims to foster impactful partnerships and deliver science-driven solutions addressing food security and climate resilience.
“Together, we will build a future defined by sustainability, resilience, and shared prosperity,”
