IFF has officially opened its Scent Dubai Creative Centre, a state-of-the-art 2,000-square-metre expansion within the Dubai Science Park Laboratory Complex, reinforcing its investment in the region’s rapidly growing fragrance market.
Positioned as a strategic hub, the new facility enhances IFF’s capabilities to deliver cutting-edge scent solutions across fine fragrance, home, fabric, and beauty care categories. The centre includes a perfumery art studio for customer co-creation, an academy for perfumery training, and a majlis inspired by Middle Eastern cultural traditions.
Erik Fyrwald, CEO of IFF, highlighted the region's importance, noting,
“The Middle East is a key market for IFF’s global growth. It’s expected to top $7 billion by 2034, driven by increasing disposable income, strong luxury demand, and deep cultural ties to scent.”
Designed with both creativity and speed in mind, the facility is equipped with a semi-industrial production robot to fast-track development and market readiness. It also houses a high number of evaluation booths and advanced fragrance technologies.
Sabrya Meflah, President of Fine Fragrance at IFF Scent, described the studio as a local extension of the company’s iconic perfumery spaces in Grasse and Shanghai. Ana Paula Mendonça, President of IFF Scent, added that the centre reinforces IFF’s commitment to innovation and local collaboration.
Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Science Park, welcomed the expansion, saying it aligns with Dubai’s R&D ambitions and the broader Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’.
With this launch, IFF cements its role as a fragrance innovation leader in one of the world's most dynamic scent markets.
