The World Logistics Passport (WLP), a global, private sector-led initiative designed to smooth the flow of global trade, will host its inaugural Global Summit on Tuesday 08 June 2021.

To be held remotely, the Summit’s overarching ambition is to further international cooperation in order to offer businesses the right regulatory conditions, information and incentives to unlock the full potential of global trade. It will bring together global leaders from business, government and international organisations to share perspectives on the key trends shaping the freight and logistics industry. In addition, it will take stock of the WLP’s achievements and chart the way forward for the programme.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Group, will chair the Summit. It will also feature prominent leaders in the global logistics sector including Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, DP World, Marcelo Sampaio, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Brazil and Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister of Trade and Integration, Republic of Kazakhstan. Representatives from the World Customs Organization (WCO) and other international organisations will also be present, with discussions taking place under Chatham House rules.
