Some UAE residents will soon be eligible for visa on arrival in Indonesia, as announced on Wednesday. Indonesia has appointed VFS Global to manage its new electronic visa on arrival (e-VoA) platform, which will launch in early December 2024. This service will be available to UAE residents from 97 eligible countries.
Travellers can complete the entire process online via the VFS Global website, submitting required documents and paying fees before departure. The e-VoA costs IDR500,000 (approx. Dh120), with an additional VFS Global service fee of IDR230,000 (approx. Dh50).
The partnership with Emirates will make it easier for passengers to apply for the e-VoA when booking flights. Travellers will also benefit from smoother entry via E-gates or immigration counters. Dedicated Indonesia counters are available at VFS Global offices in Dubai, Mumbai, and Shanghai, with more to come.
The e-VoA service offers support in seven languages and ensures error-free applications through advanced OCR technology. Group booking is also available, providing convenience for larger groups and travel trade.
Zubin Karkaria, CEO of VFS Global Group, said the platform will enhance the visa process and boost tourism to Indonesia.
Countries eligible for e-VoA include the UAE, Bahrain, South Korea, the US, India, Australia, and many European nations.
