InfraX, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, has joined forces with Itron and MEA-Comm to accelerate the development of next-generation smart utility and IoT solutions in the UAE.
The collaborations, announced during GITEX Global 2025, mark a significant step toward advancing the nation’s digital and sustainable infrastructure goals.
Under the first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), InfraX and Itron will work together to enhance smart metering, energy management, and smart city platforms. The partnership will leverage InfraX’s communication infrastructure and Itron’s expertise in intelligent energy and water systems to deliver more efficient, data-driven, and connected operations across utilities and urban environments.
InfraX also signed an MoU with MEA-Comm, a UAE-based system integrator specializing in private wireless networks for industrial IoT. The two companies will collaborate on technical and commercial assessments of digital twins and edge-enabled architectures to enable near real-time performance for complex industrial settings.
The initiative includes deploying AI-powered platforms and intelligent agents to strengthen automation, resilience, and smarter decision-making within the UAE’s evolving smart city ecosystem.
Rashid Alahmedi, COO of InfraX, said the partnerships aim to deliver intelligent, connected solutions that enhance sustainability and efficiency while supporting the UAE’s innovation-led vision.
Ayman El Shareif, Itron’s Vice President of Sales for the Middle East, noted that combining Itron’s IoT expertise with InfraX’s digital capabilities will help utilities and cities manage resources more effectively.
Dr. Abdulhadi AbouAlmal, CEO of MEA-Comm, added that the collaboration will help advance Dubai’s Industry 4.0 ambitions and enable smarter, AI-driven infrastructure across the Middle East and Africa.
