How did you initially come up with the idea or concept for the business?
We deal in Electrical, Plumbing, Tools and Building Materials. Our showroom is located in Deira, which happens to be the place for all the building materials requirement. Anything you need related to construction or manufacturing industry you will find it here. But, parking is a big issue. During summer times its hard to find a parking and walking from showroom to showroom looking for the right product becoming very challenging. Further, during the Covid crisis people resorted to online shopping to avoid contact. There is no website or platform that can fulfill the requirement of the construction or manufacturing industry. That is why Gooxoom.com came into existence.
Tell us about some of the major turning points in the history of your business.
2008 global recession and Covid19 pandemic was a major turning point. Due to the hardship and challenges, people were forced out of their comfort zone and had to think differently to adapt to the changing environment. During the 2008 global recession we started taking a very conservative approach in doing business and during the Covid19 pandemic we resorted to digital and risk free method of doing business.
What made you choose Dubai as a location to setup your business?
Dubai is the best place in the entire Middle East to do business. Everything is very convenient and there is a constant struggle to improve things until there is no room left for improvement. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has turned a desert into a shining star. It's nothing short of a miracle.
