Italy Boosts UAE Trade with 29% Growth in Cosmetics Exports and 8% Market Share in 2024

The Italian Trade Agency (ITA), in collaboration with Cosmoprof and Cosmetica Italia, hosted the prestigious ‘Italian Beauty’ event at the luxurious Atlantis The Royal, showcasing Italy’s excellence in the beauty and personal care industry. This event served as a dynamic platform to highlight Italy’s significant contributions as a key trading partner to the UAE and the wider region.

The event spotlighted renowned Italian brands such as KIKO Milano Cosmetics, Madi International (exclusive distributor of Quattro Professional), Kemon, Nashi Hair, Grand Stores (distributor of Diego Dalla Palma and Teaology), Rudy Profumi, and Istituto Marangoni. These brands exemplified Italy’s commitment to innovation, quality, and luxury in the beauty sector.

Italy’s trade relationship with the UAE continues to thrive, particularly in beauty and cosmetics. As of December 2023, Italy ranked as the 4th largest exporter to the UAE with a 7% market share, reflecting a 13% year-on-year growth. By September 2024, Italy retained this position, with its market share increasing to 8% and exports surging by an impressive 29% compared to the previous year.

Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, remarked,

“The cosmetic sector embodies the essence of Italian excellence—meticulous innovation and attention to personal wellness. This event showcases the value Italian companies bring to the UAE’s flourishing beauty market.”

Valerio Soldani, Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE, added,

“The 29% growth in Italian cosmetic exports to the UAE highlights the potential of our bilateral trade. This event is key to showcasing Italy’s leadership in beauty and personal care.”

The event featured engaging discussions, product launches, and networking opportunities, reinforcing Italy’s reputation as a global leader in beauty. Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna’s General Manager, Enrico Zannini, and Cosmetica Italia’s Vice President, Fabio Franchina, emphasized Italy’s role in driving global beauty trends through craftsmanship, sustainability, and innovation.

By celebrating Italy’s cultural and economic ties with the UAE, the ‘Italian Beauty’ event set the stage for future collaborations, solidifying Italy’s position at the forefront of the global beauty industry.
