The Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza) and Global Surfaces FZE unveiled the largest engineered surfaces manufacturing facility in the Middle East today, representing a significant investment of approximately USD 27 million (AED 100 million).
Spanning nearly 40,000 square meters, this state-of-the-art facility marks a pivotal moment for Global Surfaces as it expands operations in the Gulf region.
Commencing commercial production in February 2024, the facility is equipped with advanced SCADA-controlled machinery and multiple CNC machines, enabling the production of high-quality engineered quartz surfaces that emulate natural stone aesthetics. With an impressive annual production capacity exceeding 620,000 square meters, Global Surfaces is well-positioned to meet the increasing demand for premium surfaces in the Gulf and international markets, including the USA and Canada.
The unveiling event was attended by key figures, including Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO & Managing Director of DP World GCC, and Mayank Shah, Managing Director of Global Surfaces.
Bin Damithan expressed enthusiasm for Global Surfaces' presence in Jafza, highlighting the facility's potential to bolster the construction sector with locally produced surfaces that were previously imported.
Shah noted that the facility aligns with Global Surfaces' growth strategy, enhancing logistics capabilities and enabling efficient exports. He introduced the new “QUARTZITES” product series, inspired by nature, and announced plans for the “MARQUARTZ” collection. Additionally, the company is committed to eco-friendly production, utilizing renewable energy, recycled materials, and an advanced water treatment system to align with the UAE's Net Zero 2050 targets.
