JAFZA Partners with A-HEAT to Develop GCC’s Largest Heat Exchanger Facility

Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) has signed an agreement with German technology group Allied Heat Exchange AG (A-HEAT) to establish the largest heat exchanger production facility in the GCC.

The cutting-edge facility will cater to the rising demand for energy-efficient cooling solutions, particularly for data centers requiring advanced thermal management.

Spanning 1.2 million square feet with a built-up area of 400,000 square feet, the custom-built facility will be located within DP World’s flagship free zone, JAFZA, and operated by Güntner, A-HEAT’s flagship brand. With a legacy dating back to 1931 in Munich, Güntner is a global leader in heat transfer technology. The facility will serve as a key production and distribution hub, enhancing supply chain efficiencies across the GCC, India, China, Africa, and Asia.

The agreement was signed during the World Government Summit in Dubai in the presence of His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, along with senior executives from both companies.

The growth of artificial intelligence and cloud computing has intensified the need for energy-efficient cooling, with cooling systems being one of the largest power-consuming components in IT infrastructure. Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the UAE’s ‘Operation 300bn’ strategy to drive industrial innovation and sustainability.

Hubert Spegel, Executive Board Member at A-HEAT, highlighted the significance of this collaboration in strengthening A-HEAT’s presence in the Middle East and global markets. The facility will produce advanced heat exchangers using natural refrigerants like CO₂ and ammonia, alongside aicore™️ smart control solutions that optimize energy usage and water consumption.

With this expansion, A-HEAT continues to advance its global footprint, reinforcing its position as a leader in high-performance cooling solutions.
