The United Arab Emirates will soon host the Japan Culture Centre, a landmark destination dedicated to celebrating Japan’s heritage and contemporary artistry.

Announced at the UAE Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, the project underscores the UAE’s commitment to cultural diplomacy and global cooperation.

Conceived by Al Ahli Holding Group (AAHG), the centre embodies the UAE’s philosophy of fostering understanding and creativity among nations. Presented as the UAE’s parting gift to Japan at the closing of Expo 2025, it stands as a gesture of friendship, respect, and shared purpose that will continue to inspire collaboration long after the event concludes.

The announcement was led by Shehab Ahmed Al Fahim, UAE Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner General of the UAE Pavilion, alongside renowned creative figures Kengo Kuma, Paul Tanguay, Fumio Nanjo, and Toshio Shimizu, as well as representatives from AAHG.

Al Fahim described the initiative as a “living platform for cultural and economic exchange,” highlighting its role in sustaining and reimagining traditions for future generations. The project reflects the UAE’s enduring leadership vision, tracing its roots from the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The Japan Culture Centre will form the centrepiece of AAHG’s Multiverse Project, an ecosystem dedicated to art, design, education, and sustainability. Mohammed Khammas, Group CEO of AAHG, said the initiative represents a belief that while structures may fade, “culture, artistry, and friendship endure across generations.”
