Latifa bint Mohammed Inaugurates 'The Sublime Nature of Being' Exhibition at ICD Brookfield Place

H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, officially opened the immersive exhibition The Sublime Nature of Being at ICD Brookfield Place on January 20.

The exhibition, running until February 22, is organized in collaboration with the ICD Brookfield Place Arts Programme, which highlights the vital role of the arts in enhancing daily life and promoting local and international talent.

The exhibition features an evocative collection of contemporary art from global artists, inviting visitors to explore the fleeting, universal moments that connect humanity to the beauty of existence. During her visit, Sheikha Latifa toured the exhibition, admiring the innovative artistry and distinctive presentation styles that set the works apart. She also met with the participating artists, commending their visionary works that reflect a deep connection between humanity and nature.

Curated by Ambika Hinduja Macker, the exhibition reimagines her 2022 immersive art experience. It delves into the natural world, incorporating the elements of Water, Fire, Earth, Air, and Spirit. Visitors are invited on a sensorial journey, reflecting the Japanese concept of Ukiyo, living in the moment free from life’s concerns. The exhibition emphasizes the interconnectedness of all life and the purity of the cosmos.

Ambika Hinduja Macker expressed her excitement about bringing visionary artists together at ICD Brookfield Place, a space known for fostering creativity. Malak Abu Qaoud, Director of the Arts Programme, highlighted the exhibition’s alignment with ICD Brookfield Place’s ethos of inspiring creativity and fostering cultural conversations.
