H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, officially opened Expand North Star 2024 today, marking the largest global gathering for startups and investors.
The event, organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, runs from October 13 to 16 at Dubai Harbour.
During the inauguration, Sheikh Mansoor emphasized that Dubai's commitment to innovation and sustainable growth, driven by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has established the emirate as a key player in the global economy. He reiterated the importance of a flexible digital economy in adapting to change and leveraging technology to create opportunities.
Following the opening ceremony, Sheikh Mansoor toured the exhibition, engaging with international exhibitors and entrepreneurs, alongside notable figures such as Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, and Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director-General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism.
This year's event features over 1,800 startups and more than 1,200 investors from over 100 countries, reflecting Dubai's growing significance in the global digital landscape. Six new features, including the Corporate Arena and Tech Transfer 3.0, have been introduced to enhance the experience and foster innovation.
Expand North Star, integrated with GITEX GLOBAL, promises to provide diverse content, networking opportunities, and insights into emerging technology sectors, reinforcing Dubai's position as a leading global hub for innovation and economic growth.
