The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) recently revealed the agenda for the ninth annual Knowledge Summit.

Scheduled for November 18-19, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, this year’s summit will explore the theme “Future Skills and the Artificial Intelligence Economy.”

During a press conference held at the Al Habtoor Palace Hotel, attended by MBRF CEO Jamal bin Huwaireb and UNDP’s Dr. Hany Torky, the summit’s objectives and upcoming events were highlighted.

Bin Huwaireb noted,

“The Knowledge Summit has become a global platform for sharing insights and supporting sustainable development, aligning with Dubai’s AI-driven transformation.”

The summit will discuss the role of AI in various industries, human skill development, and global collaboration for Sustainable Development Goals.

The summit will also host the 3rd UNESCO World Open Educational Resources Congress, a significant event for digital cooperation in the Arab world, gathering ministers and global leaders. Additionally, the Global Knowledge Index 2024 (GKI) report will be unveiled, offering valuable data on global development, while winners of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award will be honored for their contributions to societal welfare and progress.

Highlighting the importance of skill-building, Dr. Torky emphasized that initiatives like the Future Skills Academy are pivotal to fostering sustainable digital economies. Panel discussions by Coursera will further address AI’s impact on education, vocational training, and employment, with sessions spanning technology, environment, cybersecurity, and AI in space.

The Knowledge Summit 2024 is poised to solidify Dubai’s status as a global hub for innovation, providing a critical platform for forward-thinking dialogue.
