The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives has pledged new support for healthcare projects implemented by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, reinforcing its commitment to improving access to essential medical services for vulnerable populations worldwide.

The pledge forms part of the proceeds from the Fathers’ Endowment campaign, launched in February 2025 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The campaign, created to honour fathers in the UAE through a sustainable healthcare endowment, raised more than AED3.7 billion before the end of Ramadan, marking one of the region’s most successful humanitarian drives.

The announcement was made during MBRGI’s participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, held from 19 to 23 January 2026. Discussions took place at the UAE Pavilion during a meeting between H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Member of MBRGI’s Board of Trustees, and Dr. Barham Salih, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, focusing on expanding cooperation and building on achievements since their partnership began in 2021.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid witnessed the signing of a new partnership agreement between MBRGI and UNHCR. Senior officials from both sides attended, including Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary General of MBRGI.

Officials emphasised that the collaboration reflects the UAE’s humanitarian approach, centred on sustainable solutions, dignity, and long-term impact. UNHCR praised MBRGI’s continued support, noting its role in enabling life-saving healthcare interventions amid rising global displacement.

Since its establishment in 2015, MBRGI has spent over AED13.8 billion on humanitarian initiatives, benefiting hundreds of millions of people across 118 countries.
