The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) will represent the UAE at the 46th Scientific Assembly of the Committee on Space Research, running from 1 to 9 August 2026 in Florence, Italy, spotlighting the nation's growing footprint in planetary science and space exploration.
The gathering will draw scientists, researchers, engineers, space agencies and industry leaders from across the globe to discuss advances in space science, planetary research, space weather, Earth observation and climate studies.
MBRSC will use the platform to present highlights from the UAE's space journey, including artefacts flown during the Zayed Ambition 1 and Zayed Ambition 2 missions, giving visitors insight into the achievements of the UAE Astronaut Programme.
The Centre will also detail the scientific groundwork behind the Emirates Lunar Mission, progress on the Rashid Rover 2, and findings from the Emirates Mars Mission's Hope Probe, underlining the UAE's expanding role in planetary research.
Beyond exhibits, MBRSC's team will join technical sessions throughout the assembly, fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening ties with the international research community.
The Centre's presence in Florence will double as an early introduction to Dubai, which is set to host COSPAR 2028. Visitors and delegations will be able to experience the Dubai Scent Wall, an immersive Dubai showcase and a cultural food and beverage experience, offering a sensory preview of the city.
COSPAR 2028 will mark the first time the assembly is held in the Arab world, with more than 3,000 researchers and experts expected to attend, further cementing Dubai's standing as a hub for major scientific and space events.
