Meraas has awarded a AED 1.9 billion construction contract to United Engineering Construction for The Acres, a new standalone villa community in Dubailand set for completion in late 2027.
The agreement covers the first phase of development, which includes 642 villas along with community facilities. The project features three to five bedroom homes ranging from 3,048 to 6,001 square feet. Each villa includes a private garden with landscaped pathways linking residents to Halo Loop Park and a series of swimmable lagoons at the heart of the community.
Khalid Al Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding Real Estate, said the project marks a new step in creating neighbourhoods that blend design, sustainability and wellbeing. He noted that the partnership with UNEC supports Dubai’s long term vision for sustainable urban living as outlined in the Dubai 2040 Master Plan.
UNEC Chairman Eng. Abdul Halim Muwahid said the company is committed to delivering construction that meets global standards and reflects Dubai’s leadership in high quality residential development.
Central to the masterplan is Halo Loop Park, which connects neighbourhoods through green spaces, social infrastructure and seven themed gardens. The community will include a nursery, school, clinic, mosques, clubhouses and a retail zone, supported by walking and cycling trails, fitness areas, playgrounds and sports facilities.
Sustainability plays a key role, with the development targeting an 80 percent reduction in per capita greenhouse gas emissions and a 33 percent decrease in water use compared to national averages. All irrigation will be supplied through treated wastewater. The Acres has already earned LEED Gold Pre-certification for Cities & Communities.
Located in Dubailand, the community offers direct access to major roads and key destinations, including Global Village, Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club and Hamdan Sports Complex.
