Meta and Creators HQ Launch 'Creators for Purpose' Programme in Dubai
Dubai-based Creators HQ, in collaboration with Meta, has launched the "Creators for Purpose" programme, a strategic initiative aimed at empowering regional content creators to produce meaningful, positive content on Instagram and Facebook.
Announced during the third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, this programme underscores the UAE's efforts to enhance digital media's positive influence on societal development and bolster the nation's standing as a global hub for creative industries.
The 1 Billion Followers Summit, attended by over 15,000 creators and 420 global speakers, also introduced a $1 million global award for purposeful content creators and the One Billion Pitches competition, which secured AED 50 million in funding for creators. Meta’s decision to launch the programme in the UAE reflects the country’s leadership in digital media innovation and its diverse, inclusive culture, which fosters collaboration among content creators from over 195 nationalities.
Moon Baz, Meta’s Global Partnerships Lead for Africa, Middle East, and Turkey, highlighted the partnership's importance, stating,
"This initiative aligns with our mission to support content that promotes positive societal growth. We aim to equip creators with the tools and knowledge to amplify their impact."
Alia AlHammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office, emphasized the UAE's pivotal role in shaping the future of content creation, aiming to foster a robust, positive content industry.
The "Creators for Purpose" programme represents a significant step towards harnessing the power of digital media for social good, empowering creators to build impactful narratives and inspire global change.
