Microsoft Teams is introducing 'Music Mode' to battle audio issues. The video conference platform's newest update will improve the audio quality - for both speech or songs - on calls.

Microsoft expect the feature to provide a welcome boost for online conferences, concerts and music lessons with a range of audio-focused additions.

These include mic sensitivity, noise suppression and a high fidelity mode. The feature was first revealed last month, but now Music Mode is set to launch over the coming weeks.

Although the company admitted most meetings won't need to use Music Mode, those that do will see the platform automatically tweak the bite rate based on the available bandwidth.

They added:

"In music mode, we support up to 32 kHz sampling rate mono audio at 128 kbs, and optimize our audio processing settings for reproducing music with high fidelity."

Before a meeting starts, users will get to turn off certain features including noise suppression, echo cancellation and gain control.
