Based on insights from over 16,000 respondents in 25 countries, the report reveals that the Middle East is rapidly adopting electric vehicles, digital car buying, and new mobility services.

Key findings include:

  • Car Ownership: Middle East residents drive 32 km daily on average, 50% more than Europeans, indicating a strong preference for personal vehicle use.
  • Shift to Electric Vehicles: There’s growing interest in electric vehicles (EVs), driven by cost savings and environmental concerns, though charging infrastructure remains a challenge.
  • Digital Car Purchases: 53% of respondents in the Middle East are open to buying cars online, one of the highest rates globally.
  • Autonomous Vehicles: Middle East markets, such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, show significantly higher acceptance of autonomous driving compared to Europe and the USA.
  • Mobility Services: Ride-hailing services like Uber and Careem are widely popular, with 56% of respondents having tried them.
