The Ministry of Education (MoE) has launched a nationwide competition for public schools, inviting students and teachers to transform their learning environments into vibrant celebrations of Emirati cultural heritage.

Titled My School… My Identity, the initiative aims to empower students and educators to express their creativity by designing school decorations that reflect the UAE's rich heritage.

Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education, emphasized the importance of this initiative in making learning spaces more engaging.

“Through this competition, we aim to inspire excellence by infusing creativity, innovation, and cultural expression into the educational environment,”

said Al Amiri.

“This helps students and teachers unlock their full potential and fosters the future custodians of our heritage.”

The competition also aims to enhance the quality of life for public school students by promoting teamwork and collaboration between students and teachers. Mohammed Al Qasim, Undersecretary of the MoE, highlighted how the event aligns with the ministry’s goal of encouraging innovation and collaborative efforts within the school community.

Schools will be judged on criteria including their reflection of Emirati heritage, creativity, quality, teamwork, and adherence to educational goals. The MoE has set specific technical and safety requirements for the artwork in school facilities.

A panel of experts, including Emirati artists and MoE specialists, will review submissions and select the top 10 winners. The competition offers substantial financial prizes: AED100,000 for first place, AED70,000 for second, AED50,000 for third, and AED25,000 for places four through ten.

Entries can be submitted between January 20 and March 28, 2025.
