Ministry of Education Launches Specialised Training Week for Educators
The UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) has inaugurated the Specialised Training Week, a professional development initiative running until December 20th.
The programme is set to engage over 24,000 educators, including school leaders, teachers, and other professionals, in preparation for the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.
With over 66 workshops spanning 240 training hours, the initiative is designed to enhance the quality and sustainability of professional development programmes. Delivered by subject matter experts, the workshops address educators' specific needs, focusing on scientific and technical advancements, essential skills, and innovative teaching strategies to improve educational outcomes and national performance indicators.
Mohammed Al Qasim, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education, highlighted the programme's objectives, stating,
“The Ministry's Specialised Training Week focuses on developing educational professionals by enhancing teaching strategies, adopting innovative methods, and equipping educators with digital skills to leverage modern tools. It fosters research and development, improves institutional practices, and provides a platform for teachers to exchange experiences, enriching knowledge and supporting sustainable educational improvement.”
The initiative, supervised by the Ministry's Professional Development Department, aligns training programmes with national and global standards. These programmes aim to address performance indicators, improve classroom practices, and enhance student outcomes, supporting the Ministry’s commitment to continuous educational advancement.
The Specialised Training Week exemplifies the UAE’s focus on fostering innovation, equipping educators for future challenges, and ensuring the nation's education system remains globally competitive.
