The Ministry of Finance (MoF) is set to participate in the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025, held from February 11-13 in Dubai, under the theme "Shaping Future Governments."

In a significant pre-summit event, the MoF will host the 9th Arab Fiscal Forum on February 10, in collaboration with the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, emphasized the Summit's importance as a global platform for shaping the future of governance and addressing economic challenges. He highlighted the MoF’s commitment to advancing sustainable financial policies to drive economic growth and navigate global uncertainties.

The Arab Fiscal Forum will feature high-level discussions with Arab finance ministers, central bank governors, and international figures such as IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. The forum will address critical issues such as fiscal resilience, public debt management, and climate change, with key panel sessions focusing on macroeconomic trends, fiscal policy amidst debt pressures, and the role of tax systems in economic transformations.

On the first day of the Summit, the MoF will co-organize a session with the IMF on “Reimagining the Future of Multilateral Cooperation,” followed by a discussion on “Enhancing Resilience: Shaping the Future of the GCC Economy” with the GCC General Secretariat. Day 2 will see a focus on public-private partnerships in social infrastructure and a session on international tax reforms.

The WGS 2025 promises to attract global leaders, with over 30 heads of state, 140 government delegations, and more than 80 international organizations participating in 200+ sessions.
