The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has organised a workshop on the Zero Government Bureaucracy (ZGB) Programme in collaboration with the programme's team from the Prime Minister's Office to discuss the objectives, review the work systems, and clarify the evaluation criteria of the programme.

The gathering extensively discussed the scope, procedures, and requirements of various components of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme. Evaluation criteria and mechanisms for determining zeroing processes were also scrutinized. Officials outlined the next steps for the ministry, aligning with the five evaluation pillars of the program.

The initiative aims to enhance community quality of life, boost customer satisfaction, and bolster the UAE's global government service indicators and sustainable development goals. Prominent figures, including Abdullah Ahli, Acting Assistant Under-Secretary for the Support Services Sector and Head of MoHAP’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Team, attended the session, along with members of MoHAP's program team, directors, and advisors.

During the workshop, participants devised a detailed action plan with specific objectives and stages, adhering to a defined timeline. The plan includes ongoing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, culminating in a comprehensive assessment process to gauge the impact of implemented improvements. These enhancements aim to streamline procedures, eliminate redundant requirements, and enhance customer interactions to provide quicker services and establish a pioneering user experience in the health sector.

Dr. Mohammed Salim Al Olama, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, highlighted the workshop as a significant stride in aligning government operations with the UAE's directives. Rapid adoption and implementation of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme aim to enhance government efficiency and set new standards in institutional services.

He stressed the ministry's commitment to surpassing compliance by incorporating leading international practices, in line with the UAE Government Charter for Future Services. Al Olama emphasized the formulation of a detailed action plan with a specific implementation timeline for the current year, aiming to enhance the customer journey's efficiency.

Al Olama noted the Ministry's service packages designed to save time and effort, enabling seamless access to services without repeated visits. The ministry aims to develop services within a sustainable framework, fostering innovative practices characterized by flexibility, proactivity, and readiness. Commitment to providing efficient corporate services and a robust digital infrastructure was reiterated.

The ZGB programme is a major initiative launched by the UAE government to eliminate redundant government procedures and requirements, significantly simplifying the administrative process. Ministries and government entities are tasked with the immediate implementation of the programme, which includes cancelling a minimum of 2,000 government measures, halving the time required for procedures, and removing all unnecessary bureaucracy by the end of 2024.
