MoEI Launches Federal Roads Service Platform to Streamline NOC Issuance

The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has announced the development of a Federal Roads Service Platform, designed to simplify the process of issuing and renewing No Objection Certificates (NOC) for road works.

This initiative aligns with the UAE's broader Zero Government Bureaucracy programme, aimed at eliminating unnecessary administrative processes and enhancing service delivery.

Mohamed Almail, Assistant Undersecretary for the Federal Infrastructure Assets Sector at MoEI, emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to adopting innovative, technology-driven practices to improve efficiency.

"We aim to implement cutting-edge services that surpass customer expectations,"

he stated.

The new platform significantly reduces the documentation and procedures required for NOC issuance. Previously, eight documents were needed, but this has been reduced to three, and the number of procedures has been halved from 26 to 13. Additionally, the processing time has been cut from 14 days to just seven. NOC renewals are also simplified, with procedures reduced from 11 to three, and the service time reduced to an instant, with no need for additional documents.

As part of the development, the Federal Infrastructure Assets Sector engaged private sector entities and customers to shape future services. The goal is to create solutions that meet users’ needs while promoting innovation.

The Zero Government Bureaucracy programme, launched in early 2024, aims to streamline government processes by eliminating over 2,000 measures by year-end, reducing procedure times, and enhancing service efficiency across all government sectors.
