MoEI Partners with Pact Carbon to Advance Green Mobility in UAE
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has partnered with Pact Carbon to launch a pilot project aimed at expanding the use of electric bicycles in the UAE. The agreement also includes a study to assess the potential for future collaboration in alignment with the UAE’s national goals for green and sustainable mobility.
Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI, highlighted the initiative’s role in reducing the transportation sector’s carbon footprint and promoting environmentally friendly mobility. He emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in leveraging expertise to develop innovative solutions that support the UAE’s vision for sustainability and climate neutrality.
The pilot project not only focuses on lowering carbon emissions but also aims to foster a culture of green mobility among residents and encourage innovation in transportation. Al Olama reiterated the ministry’s commitment to working with partners to achieve a sustainable and prosperous future.
