Ministry of Finance Completes Government Financial Management Awareness Programme

The Ministry of Finance has successfully concluded its Government Financial Management Awareness Programme for the first half of the year, having conducted nine courses attended by over 1,000 employees from 48 federal entities.

This initiative aimed to enhance the skills necessary for effective government financial management.

The comprehensive training covered essential topics, including government procurement, accounting standards, debt collection, tax procedures, financial period closure, asset management, and the preparation of financial statements using the Hyperion HFM system.

Mariam Mohammed Al Amiri, Assistant Under-Secretary of Government Finance Management, highlighted the programme's tailored approach, which reflects the Ministry's commitment to improving employee efficiency across various institutions. She noted that the training not only deepened employees' understanding of relevant laws and regulations but also fostered stronger relationships with key authorities, thereby enhancing the UAE's business environment.

Al Amiri stressed the importance of such initiatives in developing human capital, essential for a knowledge-based economy. The training equips employees with vital technical, behavioral, and administrative skills, aligning with the federal government's evolving demands.

This year's programme included courses on updates to federal accounting standards, debt collection procedures, a digital procurement platform, asset management, tax applications, and preparing financial statements, all aimed at improving operational and financial performance across the UAE's federal entities.
