The UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) today announced the launch of the Customer Councils, in line with the Zero Government Bureaucracy programme that aims to eliminate redundant government procedures and requirements, as well as simplify administrative processes.

The UAE Ministry of Finance held its first session in Dubai on Tuesday, with several invitees participating, sharing their experiences in dealing with the Ministry on various topics and services and their level of satisfaction. The customers’ insights are fundamental to the development, innovation, and success of government procedures, which will lead to an enhanced customer experience.

Mohamed Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, underscores the ongoing process of eliminating government bureaucracy, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing customer experience. He highlights the role of Ministry staff in this endeavor, acknowledging their expertise and direct interactions with customers. Al Hussaini anticipates that initiatives under the Zero Government Bureaucracy program will benefit individuals, the private sector, adopting institutions, and their employees. He looks forward to the outcomes of Customer Councils, expecting valuable insights to contribute significantly to the success of bureaucracy reduction efforts.

The UAE Ministry of Finance, in a collaborative effort with the private sector and individuals, aims to learn about their opinions on a number of topics and services. This is through the Customer Councils initiative, which holds virtual and in-person sessions. This encourages all segments of customers to participate in the decision-making process, and later examine proposals, analyse them, and implement ideas.

As part of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Interactive Lab, the Ministry conducts interactive sessions, brainstorming workshops, and design thinking workshops. These sessions involve stakeholders from the private sector and individuals, allowing them to propose and discuss ideas for procedure development and test solutions. The Customer Councils initiative's inaugural session aims to survey all procedures, conditions, and requirements within the UAE Ministry of Finance, analyze unnecessary burdens, evaluate proposals, and identify areas for improvement. Under the Zero Government Bureaucracy program, ministries and government entities are tasked with immediately implementing measures to cancel at least 2,000 government measures, halve procedure times, and eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy.
