MoF Launches Programme to Enhance Financial Sustainability and Skills of Federal Employees
The UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) has introduced the Financial Sustainability and Accounting Capacity Building Programme to advance financial sustainability and strengthen the financial and accounting expertise of federal government employees.
This initiative aligns with the Government Partnership and Integration System, which aims to foster strategic collaborations with leading international and local organizations. The programme is designed to reinforce financial policies and apply government accounting standards that meet global best practices.
Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Finance, highlighted that this programme reflects the Ministry’s commitment to optimizing financial management within the federal sector.
"We aim to equip federal employees with the latest knowledge in international financial standards,"
he noted, emphasizing the Ministry's focus on financial transparency, accountability, and sustainable public finance administration.
Key objectives of the initiative include enhancing financial analytical skills, promoting partnerships to ensure global leadership in public finance, and launching specialized training. Partnerships with institutions such as the American University in Dubai and the British Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) have been established, offering executive diplomas in government finance sustainability and certificates in International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and finance sustainability, set for 2024-2025.
The Ministry's dedication to professional development is further demonstrated by a comprehensive survey to select qualified candidates from across federal entities, ensuring the highest standards in training and competence for financial and accounting personnel. Through these efforts, the MoF aims to build a skilled workforce capable of driving financial sustainability and innovation in government finance.
