The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has announced that it received over 4,981 calls from UAE nationals abroad during the 2024 summer holiday, with 1,880 of these being emergency reports through the dedicated emergency line, 0097180024.

MoFA highlighted that it has assembled highly skilled teams ready to handle all types of emergency situations around the clock, ensuring the safety of UAE citizens abroad. The ministry reported that 95% of the emergency calls were addressed within 20 seconds, with automatic redial technology activating within 10 minutes for unresolved calls. Additionally, seven air and eight land transport operations were coordinated with the UAE National Guard and health authorities to manage critical medical cases.

To enhance safety, MoFA issued multiple travel alerts through its “Travel Requirements by Destination” feature on its website and smart application, as well as via text messages. These alerts advised travelers to exercise caution due to natural disasters and emphasized the importance of dealing with accredited companies to avoid fraud.

Bushra Ahmed Al Matrooshi, Director of MoFA's Nationals' Affairs Department, stated that the ministry is committed to assessing the satisfaction of UAE nationals with its emergency response services. Feedback is gathered from callers once their cases are resolved, and performance is monitored through indicators that measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the response teams.

During the 2024 summer travel season, 10,431 UAE nationals registered with the Twajudi service, which facilitates communication and assistance during emergencies. The ministry received 452 requests for Return Documents, primarily for newborns and cases of expired or lost passports. The customer satisfaction rate for the issuance of Return Documents and Twajudi registration reached 96%.

MoFA remains dedicated to providing premium services to UAE nationals, aligning with the leadership’s vision for future foresight and proactive digital services. Nationals can access these services through the Emirati Traveller page on MoFA's official website or the "UAEMOFA" smartphone application.
