MOFA Opens Applications for 2025 Scholarship Programme to Cultivate Future Diplomats
The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has announced the opening of applications for its 2025 Scholarship Programme, running from May 1 to June 1.
The initiative aims to develop national talent by supporting outstanding Emirati students in pursuing higher education at 60 top international universities, specializing in key diplomatic fields.
Designed to foster innovation and excellence in diplomacy, the programme equips scholars with the expertise to contribute to the UAE’s foreign policy and global influence. It aligns with MOFA’s vision of developing highly skilled diplomats capable of adapting to global challenges and strengthening the nation’s international presence.
Eligible candidates must be UAE nationals aged 17 to 22 with a valid passport, family book, and certified good conduct. Academic requirements include a minimum score of 80% in the Advanced and Elite secondary streams or 90% in other curricula, along with an English proficiency certificate (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent). Applicants must also secure admission to a MOFA-approved university and commit to serving in the diplomatic corps for a period equal to their years of study.
The programme unfolds in three stages: undergraduate studies abroad, a postgraduate diploma at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, and eventual appointment to MOFA’s diplomatic corps.
