His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has issued Decree No. (48) of 2024 to establish the Dubai Resilience Centre, a new public entity under the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management. The Centre aims to make Dubai a global leader in managing risks, emergencies, crises, and disasters by enhancing preparedness, coordination, and recovery efforts.
The Centre's key responsibilities include developing crisis resilience plans, managing a central operations platform, analyzing data to forecast risks, and organizing simulations to improve response strategies. It will also raise public awareness about crisis preparedness and establish partnerships with local, regional, and international organizations.
An Executive Director, appointed by the Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, will lead the Centre, overseeing its plans and coordinating with other entities to ensure efficient implementation. All government and non-government entities in Dubai are required to cooperate and provide necessary data and support.
The Decree is effective immediately and emphasizes Dubai's commitment to strengthening its crisis management capabilities and ensuring quick recovery from potential challenges.
