His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has launched the sixth edition of the Arab Hope Makers initiative, the region’s largest platform celebrating individuals and organisations dedicated to humanitarian and community service.
The initiative, part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), honours those who devote their time and resources to improving lives, fostering hope, and creating lasting social impact across the Arab world. The top Hope Maker will receive a prize of AED1 million, with nominations now open at arabhopemakers.com.

Sheikh Mohammed said that “creating hope is the highest and most noble achievement,” adding that the initiative celebrates the unsung heroes who work selflessly to inspire optimism and serve their communities.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of MBRGI, highlighted that the initiative has drawn more than 320,000 nominations since its launch in 2017, reflecting the “limitless potential for good” in the Arab world. He noted that Arab Hope Makers continues to raise awareness of the power of volunteering and community-driven change.
Last year’s winner, Moroccan volunteer Ahmed Zainoun, was honoured for his work supporting children suffering from Xeroderma Pigmentosum, known as Children of the Moon. Sheikh Mohammed also awarded equivalent prizes to the two other finalists, bringing the total prize value to AED3 million.
Through Arab Hope Makers, Sheikh Mohammed’s vision is to promote generosity, optimism, and unity by spotlighting stories of compassion and resilience that inspire hope across the region.
