The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library has unveiled plans for the second Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit 2025, set to run from 30 October to 1 November under the theme The Future of Publishing Industry.
The three-day summit will feature more than 80 speakers from 14 countries, including five keynote addresses, across 45 panel discussions and 10 workshops. Global publishing leaders such as Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, and HarperCollins will join regional publishers and industry experts.
Ibrahim Al Hashmi, Chairman of the Supreme Committee, described the summit as a strategic platform to reinforce Dubai’s role as a hub for cultural and intellectual dialogue. He stressed the importance of libraries in equipping future generations and merging creativity with technology.
Committee member Ali Al Tamimi said the event will examine digital transformation, artificial intelligence, global distribution, and sustainable publishing models, while Jamal Al Shehhi noted it will address intellectual property, supply chain challenges, and evolving reading habits.
Workshops will offer practical training in areas such as translation, editing, typography, children’s literature, and inclusive publishing, providing skills to help professionals adapt to a fast-changing industry.
