The Mohammed bin Rashid Library concluded the second Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit 2025, reaffirming Dubai’s growing influence in the global publishing scene.
Held under the theme “The Future of the Publishing Industry,” the three-day event drew more than 80 speakers from 20 countries and featured 48 sessions, 20 workshops, and five keynote addresses.
Participation surged compared to last year, with registrations up by 27.3% and international speakers increasing by 50%. Attendance and engagement rose by over 30%, while the diversity of nationalities among participants grew by a third — underscoring the summit’s expanding international reach.
In his closing remarks, Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, said the summit marked a key milestone in advancing the publishing sector and embracing digital transformation. He highlighted the need for cooperation among cultural, academic, and technological institutions to build sustainable partnerships and strengthen Arab and global publishing.
The summit covered a wide range of topics including AI’s impact on creativity, translation, book design, academic publishing, and sustainable practices. It also explored the evolving relationship between traditional and digital media and the importance of inclusivity and innovation in the literary landscape.
On the sidelines, the library announced the launch of its new publishing and translation arm, aimed at enriching Arabic content and promoting knowledge exchange across cultures. The event also featured the announcement of the upcoming tenth edition of the Mohammed bin Rashid Arabic Language Award.
The summit’s success reinforced Dubai’s standing as a regional hub for culture, creativity, and knowledge, reflecting the city’s vision to shape a sustainable and globally connected future for publishing.
