The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced a groundbreaking campaign uniting the Hayat Organ Donation Program with blood banks in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

The initiative, unveiled at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dubai, aims to harmonize organ and blood donation efforts, aligning with the UAE’s "We UAE 2031" vision for integrated and sustainable healthcare services.

Focused on increasing organ donation rates, the campaign integrates two pivotal areas of sustainable healthcare: organ and blood donation. It seeks to foster community giving, elevate quality of life, and position the UAE as a global leader in organ donation and transplantation.

Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Health Regulation Sector, emphasized the program’s success, attributing it to federal, local, and academic collaboration.

“This campaign strengthens the UAE's leadership in blood donation and organ self-sufficiency,”

he noted, highlighting the 30,388 individuals already enrolled in the Hayat program.

Dr. Ali Abdulkarim Al Obaidli, Chairman of the National Committee for Organ Transplantation, praised the initiative’s impact in fostering community solidarity and providing hope to transplant patients. He credited the UAE’s skilled medical staff, advanced facilities, and international partnerships for achieving global recognition in organ transplantation.

The event showcased blood bank achievements, inspiring donor stories, and a ceremony honoring health institutions. With a focus on awareness and capacity building, the campaign underscores the UAE’s commitment to global healthcare standards and sustainability.
