The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has unveiled the National Licensing Platform, a groundbreaking initiative designed to standardize the licensing process for health professionals across the UAE.
The platform, developed in collaboration with all health authorities, aims to streamline and simplify licensing procedures, ultimately enhancing efficiency and user experience.
This unified digital system provides a comprehensive range of services, including registration, document management, and qualification evaluation. It issues a standardised professional practice license that is valid nationwide, benefiting medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and allied healthcare staff. By cutting down on processing time and unifying requirements, the platform makes obtaining a license faster and more accessible.
Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Regulation Sector, highlighted the platform as a transformative step towards enhancing the UAE’s healthcare system. He emphasized the ministry's commitment to advancing regulatory mechanisms to keep pace with the fast-evolving healthcare sector, aiming for a globally leading health system supported by highly specialized professionals.
The platform also ensures mutual recognition of medical qualifications and experience across federal, local, and private sectors, addressing disparities in specialized healthcare delivery. It aligns with the Ministry’s Zero Government Bureaucracy (ZGB) program, offering a fully integrated and digital solution for health professional licensing.
Alla Mansour, Acting Director of the Licensing and Accreditation Department, noted that the platform adheres to global smart health system standards and supports the Ministry's strategy to create a well-governed, innovative, and sustainable healthcare environment.
