The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has hosted Ramadan Majlises across Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Qaiwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah to raise awareness about the National Programme for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, "Hayat."

The initiative aims to educate the public on the life-saving impact of organ donation and aligns with the UAE’s "We the UAE 2031" vision for an advanced healthcare system.

The Majlises were attended by key officials, including Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Health Regulation Sector, and Dr. Ali Abdulkarim Al Obaidli, Chairman of the National Committee for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation. Discussions focused on promoting a culture of organ donation, explaining the registration process, and detailing the legislative framework governing transplants in the UAE.

Dr. Al Amiri emphasized that the initiative reflects the humanitarian values of the "Year of the Community" and supports the UAE’s commitment to world-class healthcare. He highlighted that

32,704 individuals have registered for "Hayat," with 331 actual donors contributing to 1,216 transplanted organs and 1,167 successful transplants.

Dr. Al Obaidli noted that "Hayat" is one of the fastest-growing organ donation programmes globally, driven by awareness campaigns and real-life testimonies that inspire participation. Regional MoHAP offices confirmed their commitment to expanding outreach efforts, fostering partnerships, and increasing registrations.

Through these efforts, MoHAP continues to strengthen community engagement, advance healthcare excellence, and solidify the UAE’s position as a leader in organ donation and transplantation.
